Preliminary Task Evaluation

Planning
What planning did you do and why?
In the preliminary task we all took roles such as Nicole did the storyboard which involved her thinking of what angles to use in our scenes and Max wrote a script which I then cut down.
How well organised were you?
For our group, I think we were quite organised as we used our planning time well. However, we did change a few of our ideas as we did not know how to do our original idea. But we manage to find a way of producing what we had.
What would you change next time?
Next time i think as a group we would include more techniques in the recording stage. We would also discuss using our angles in a better way for each of our shots. We would maybe include more time to plan to make sure our video turns out better. We could use more lighting effects as we barely used any effects as we were rushing our video.

Video Production
What did you do, does it work, do the edits (match on action) work well?
Our video i think used match on action well. This is one of the things we did really well and we are proud of this. There was, however, a few parts that didn't match up (like Max with his gun) and we do with improving that for next time. More planning will ensure this doesn't happen again.
Have you stuck to the 180 deg. rule?
As a group, i feel we did our best to stick to this rule. However, we did spot at the beginning of the preliminary task, Max walks of to the left and re-enters on the left in the next shot.
Are the shots & angels well framed (rule of 3rd's)?
I think watching the video back, Nicole who was filming did an excellent job on trying to stick the to rule of 3rd's. When we put the film, we did realise though there could of been some alterations to the last shot where Max falls of the chair.
Does it look convincing as a conversation?
In our group, we did try our best to make it as convincing as possible. However, when it came to editing the piece, we accidentally cut off some of the beginning clips while we were importing this onto the computer.
What would you change to improve it?
For us as a group, i think depth of field is one thing we didn't use as well and we could of at least used it on one shot.
Overall, how well have you completed the preliminary task?
I think we tried our best to put the preliminary task together. Maybe next time we could be a bit more organised and use more corporation which would help us improve our next task.
